Founded in 2006 by Anthony Russo — a lifelong Copiague resident who learned the trade from his family — Long Island Shade Co. has completed 1,400+ installations across Nassau and Suffolk Counties without ever using a subcontractor.
Our Story
Tony Russo started Long Island Shade Co. in 2006 after 12 years working in his family's awning business. A lifelong Long Islander raised in Copiague, Tony understood that homeowners here face unique challenges: coastal salt air that destroys cheap fabrics, nor'easters that test every bracket, and summers hot enough to make uncovered decks unusable.
He built the company around one rule: the same crew that shows up on day one finishes the job. No subcontractors. No bait-and-switch crews. The installer who measures your space is the installer who mounts your awning — and the installer who answers the phone if something needs adjusting six months later.
This isn't just a marketing line. It's the reason we've grown entirely through word-of-mouth referrals for 18 years. When your neighbor trusts you with their home, you show up — same crew, every time.
